A Family of Worship
Our worship weaves together all the gifts our congregation brings. This means traditional hymns alongside contemporary music, liturgical readings and skits, wisdom, and playful energy. You might experience a quiet moment of communion or find yourself in the midst of 1000 balloons. This isn’t about entertainment or us trying to make the gospel interesting. Jesus IS always interesting. It’s an effort to keep drawing the fullness of our hearts, bodies, minds, and souls into the worship of God. Our members are part of speaking God’s unchanging truth in fresh ways.
What remains constant is our commitment to the faith, the mission of the church to make disciples, thoughtful engagement with Scripture, beautiful music, and creating space for all our generations to encounter God together.

At Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church, we embrace the richness of our heritage and the truth of Christian tradition while exploring new expressions of faith. For over 100 years, we’ve been a congregation that takes worship and discipleship seriously—Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life, so we want to experience the fullness of that life together.
We know the Christian journey extends far beyond Sunday morning, so we work hard to support Christian practices for our members of all ages.
